Streetcars use electric power generated by burning coal.
But the governor is dedicated to getting Ohio utility companies to reduce their coal dependency and replacing coal with wind, solar and "high technology" sources. And while it's not coal, a community with "circulator" transportation uses less gasoline as cars are used less frequently. As cars are in less demand, fewer resources are dedicated to their manufacture.
Ecological sustainability is important.
