Good question. I have been wondering for some time why Cincinnati has the lowest homeownership rate by far of comparable Midwestern cities. The 2000 census lists the Cincinnati city home ownership rate as 39%. This is lower than Akron (59), Cleveland (48.5), Columbus (49.1), Dayton (52.8), Detroit (54.9), Indy (58.6), Lexington (55.3), Louisville (52.5), Pittsburgh (52.1) and Toledo (59.8) --- and its really not even close.
