Over the years people ask about the proposed Cincinnati Streetcar system - What's any different about the streetcar and dressing up a bus like NOKY's Southbank Shuttle? I dunno. Do YOU see anything remotely different?
Well, the Southbank Shuttle, aside from obviously not running on tracks, is also modeled on old school streetcars, often called trolleys, like the historic and refurbished SF streetcars [one of those is actually from the old Cincinnati system]. The comparison photos you posted are of the much-lauded "modern streetcar" design.
I do find it a bit funny that the Southbank Shuttle emulates the "trolley" that streetcar detractors have pointed to when they've opposed the Cincinnati streetcar proposal.
