Disaster

The Central Parkway 'Protected' bike lanes are making the news. I guess Rob Braun is the 'Reasonable Man'.
I have never supported this plan that's referred to as a 'Disaster' 3 times in about as mny minutes in this WKRC hitpiece but again the useless excuse for a mayor promotes his recreational bike trails over usable public roadways.
As far as motorists careening into parked cars - ya need to pay attention while operating a fast rolling 1 ton death cage. If you don't want to pay attention - walk.
kudos to the union boss for being relatively civil for once.

What's With the Skinny Parking Lane ?
and what's with the placards on the poles ?

Dunno if it's Cincinnati drivers or American sportsmen but when they add NO PARKING AT ANY TIME & a Bike Lane they get really skinny parking lane. It's the new math, I guess.

BLAH BLAH BLAH
Bike paths! Bike lanes! It's not safe for cyclists on the roadway!
bullshit
Motorists suck at what they do. It's dangerous to walk across an intersection with a marked pathway, walk lights & traffic lights. Is the future a place where we can only travel in armour?
About 100 years ago when there weren't many cars on the road about 0.00000047% of the population died in the roadway. Today it's around 0.000110737% and THAT is an improvement over the last several decades. The problem is the addicting automobile and the cyborg mentality of motordom. The threatening rise of the robots ain't gonna look like Arnold Schwarzenegger, it's going to look like your sibs.
FWIW, in this article about Death Cafes, the chick says we have avoided talking about death more over the last 100 years than in prior centuries. Could this have anything to do with the carnage that we have seen on the road in the same time span?

To this ignorant LTE I offer this.
I would offer a rebuttal directly to the Fishwarp but they have apparently banned me from their LTE column.

Fixing Potholes

Councilwoman Amy Murray is vowing to have 10,000 potholes fixed in 3 weeks. Can it be done?
Murray runs a company called The Japan Consulting Group & has been involved with Japanese business for a while. She has obviously seen the dismal failure in Japanese passenger rail & is fighting tirelessly to save Porkopolis from the same fate. But can she get some Japanese road repair savvy in Cincinnati? Hamilton Avenue is turning into a lifetime career for some local road workers, but in Japan major repairs have taken place since their recent earthquake & tsunami. If these guys can do this, road widening & pot holes should be a cinch.
