The Catholic immigrants took a lot of heat & faced a lot of discrimination. The Ancient Order of Hibernians was created to

act as guards to protect Catholic churches from anti-Catholic forces in the mid-19th century, and to assist Irish Catholic immigrants, especially those who faced discrimination….

So, why has the Cincinnati chapter decided to discriminate against a similarly founded group this St Patrick's day?
