Bridges harken back to earlier and simpler times. They're nostalgic. We love them. But do we love them to the tune of SIX BILLION DOLLARS ?
The fact is, within the next 10 years, we'll all be flying around with jet packs like the one being developed by the guys at SkyFlash.
Indeed, the obsolete old rusty bridges will eventually just be obstacles and liabilities. After spending almost TEN BILLION DOLLARS to build a new bridge that nobody wants, will we be able to afford to tear it down?
A cool new bridge would be nice but, let's face it, we're broke & new technologies are coming along every day. Maybe it would be best to take pictures of these old bridges for coffee table books - they're not the way of the future.
