Thanks to Digging Cincinnati History for finding this UTube of old film clips of Cincinnati's Mohawk & Camp Washington neighborhoods from 1934. (this is worth going full screen)
While there has been improvements in Northside & the southern part of OTR/Northern Downtown, the area in between is in pretty bad shape & pretty vacant. Unfortunately this area is not part of the current Cincinnati regime's agenda. The problem with their plan is that anywhere that borders on these blighted neighborhoods is in danger. Watching these clips, one can see the areas were once very vibrant. They can be again.

Camp Washington Nails ItCamp Washington is calling out the unbalanced councilman Smitherman & his radical jihadist allies and their ruinous political games.

Joe Gorman says that budget cutting city solution rests squarely on the shoulders of one councilman. "I'm pretty disgusted right now. I think the city council and Dohoney did a great job with the parking plan. Then we have Councilman Smitherman and COAST coming in saying we can't have the Democratic process work, we have to circumvent that with our weird politics so we're gonna shut it down."

With this, the neighborhood joins in with area business leaders in condemning the NAATP/COA T scorched Earth policies.

Friday thru Sunday The Church of the Annunciation and the Blessed Virgin Mary in wind swept Clifton, hosts the most un-German Oktoberfest in Cincinnati. It's more of an Italian celebration with Italian sausage & LaRosa's pizza.
Saturday afternoon historic Walnut Hills will host the Cincinnati Street Food Festival from 11 to 5. Food trucks & music from around the region!
This will give you an hour to roll over to eclectic Northside for the Northside Second Saturday from 6 to 10. This month's festivities feature a Scavenger Hunt sponsored by Django Western Taco.
Sunday, get your Italian going again with the Sacred Heart Church Italian Dinner in campy Camp Washington starting at 10AM.
In the afternoon, head on up to creepy Spring Grove Cemetery for the Cruise In car & hearse show from 3 to 7 with loud music & more grub provided by CAIN.
OK? So don't come crying to me if you're fucking bored…..

Before the bastards at Habitat for Humanity got their mitts on the property(:-)), this is what 2535/7 McMicken looked like.
Well, not all the time. This was early one February morning.
I used to walk down to a doughnut store on Central Parkway for coffee, a doughnut and a paper on Sunday mornings. They had a "No Smoking" section there. It was a stool with a sign over it that said "No Smoking Section" & had an arrow pointing straight down. After they closed, I would go to a corner pony keg I think was called the M&M. It was also the headquarters for Fudpucker Airlines. It was at the corner of McMicken and Marshall (M&M). The owners, an elderly couple, liked to engage people in discussions ranging from sports to politics and, a favorite of the gentleman, WWII aviation. Eventually, they retired and sold the store.
I took this picture one winter morning when everything had been coated with ice overnight and then the temperature started to rise and everything was foggy and noisy with the sound of the dripping, melting ice. My crappy little image made with a crappy little camera really doesn't do it justice but a lot of the image is just the memory, anyway.
