Driehaus Dominates

Luke Brockmeier, Denise Driehaus and Terry Tranter appeared on Dan Hurley Show on Feb 5 to discuss their bids for Ohio's 31st district.
Brockmeier, with a particularly annoying voice, seems to want to be the perfect Liberal©. Tranter, a Berding DINO who has already tried using the courts to secure his nomination, came off as over medicated. Driehaus totally dominated the room with clear thinking & well articulated ideas & philosophy. One can easily see why Republican gerrymanderers tried to get her out of the picture.

I have to strongly disagree. Dreihaus was polished, but didn't put forth any good policy stances and her anti-abortion position is way out of since with the new 31st district.

Come on, her proposal both to create jobs and to improve the budget is the same source -- companies getting tax breaks without creating enough jobs. And if it were so common sense, why isn't it already done? She has been in there 3 years (2 in the majority), and her only successes are destroying access to abortions for those who need it the most (such as survivors of incest.)

Really, your criticism of Luke is you don't like his voice????

I forgot to mention - Driehaus also has a delightful midwestern accent.
We need people in the Assembly who can get along, work together and influence one another. Driehaus seems better positioned to do this than a left wing ideologue that Brockmeier comes off as. If he is promoting n extreme agenda he will need all the diplomacy he can muster and if he has an annoying voice, it won't help.

Yes, her diplomacy has gotten us SOOOO far. If it was so easy to get money from following up with corporate giveaways, why didn't she already pass it in the 3 years she has been there -- 2 in the majority? Instead, while in the majority, she just cut services and fought for increased funding for Catholic schools. Nice. Now, in the minority, she has sponsored anti-choice legislation -- signed by Kasich.

And Luke Brockmeier is from Cincinnati -- so his accent is as midwestern as hers.

but but COA T condemned her for cutting funding to Catholic schools....

Women's freedom is extreme? I guess in the Westside a woman having the freedom to control her own body is considered extreme. It is mainstream in the new district 31.

oh, come on….
Driehaus didn't support the Heartbeat bill, Ohio Right to life didn't support it & they didn't endorse Driehaus either.
You guys know the makeup of the Ohio General Assembly. Brockmeier is an extremist in that horde. He would be marginalized, isolated and ignored. We need somebody on there who is reasonable whether you agree with them 110% or not.

Ohio RTL endorsed Driehaus in 2010 and only did not because of the 'Heatbeat Bill'

Drieshaus voted for the other anti-abortion/ anti-women's rights bills passed in the House since 2010.

Why would we want someone who is going to vote with the Republicans? When you say reasonable it sounds like you want someone to follow along with Kaisch's agenda, or even give in to it.

She's a conservative Dem, the new 31st is a liberal district. Too many of her positions don't mix with what the voters in district believe.

and they get to decide what's best for themselves but I dunno as getting trampled by a bunch of rural districts is in their best interests

After watching this I have to agree with Quimbob's initial assessment.
