Witch Hunts Through the Ages

It's really starting to feel like the 17th century again nowadays. Or maybe the mid 20th century, I dunno.
Where accusations of witchery came with no way out of a condemnation eagerly enjoyed by the bloodthirsty rabble and accusations of communism consumed the citizens in the modern media - now the accusation is racism. An accusation that comes again with a rabid crowd who only need the accusation and care little for the veracity of the truth.
It's mainly just a ploy, usually used by liberals & Blacks, to ostracize & silence people they disagree with. It might as well be picking pizza toppings - you want mushrooms? racist

I am a racist. I know this as illuminates like Jim Albers, Laura Parker & Sean Hoefler have enlightened me as to who I am. I meet with my group of other racists & we plot to screw with black people. I have personally shattered the lives of dozens of black families.
Seriously, all the buffoonery prompted me to actually buy a Confederate flag. But that wasn't as easy as you might think. My first search was thwarted by the enlightened Stalinists at Google.
Fortunately, the racists at Yahoo hooked me up with a company where I also picked up a Haitian & German flag. yeah, I know I should hate the Krauts for waging war against the U.S. twice & they treat the racist freeloading Greeks like crap and my cabal of racist pals probably hate Haiti, but whatcha gonna do?

Clowncil

After discussing trails & sister cities the Transportation Committee of Cincinnati City Council went back to bickering & nit picking over the Cincinnati Streetcar.
Pretty amazing. SORTA sent a guy to address the committee who was unprepared and had nothing to present. Dude couldn't even divulge the number of RFPs received. It was reminiscent of when the old head of SORTA claimed Mayor Luken had likened himself to Jesus. I guess the arrogance & incompetence of the organization ain't changed much.
Seelbach accused Murray of 'picking on' the streetcar but Murray assured him she wants to scrutinize everything. But she failed to make any motions to scrutinize the MLK interchange that supporters claim will create 6,000 jobs nor the driveway to Cincinnati State that will shave a mile off students' commute.
Towards the end, motions that might be pertinent if they had any idea what SORTA was doing got bogged down into arguments over procedure. Ultimately enough hot air to heat the public school system for 6 years. And that's without the Windbag.
Meanwhile I was left wondering why we have no sister cities in Central or South America. Jacmel? Santiago? Buenos Aires?
The Mill Creek folks are working hard on recreational trails they think are transportation.
EDIT:
Lest I get too negative, one of the bright spots of the meeting were 2 speakers - individual young men who had transplanted to Cincinnati in the past 4 - 6 years. In a city struggling with it's population, these are exactly what we should want, young socially active citizens joining this community.

Ideology & Horror

This is an odd test about psychology & ideology.
I tend to believe that people who hate themselves tend to swing left, people who swing right have a tendency towards paranoia & agoraphobia. This is my opinion based on my studies at the Van Pelt school of psychology.
In the article it states:

One finding? That conservatives respond much more rapidly to threatening and aversive stimuli (for instance, images of "a very large spider on the face of a frightened person, a dazed individual with a bloody face, and an open wound with maggots in it,"

This intrigues me since I am a big horror fan. While I might respond rapidly to some of these images, it would be with a, "WOAH! Cool!" and not with a knee jerk revulsion. Not sure what the scientists were looking for.
I tend to see myself as more of an old school conservative and not the paranoid reactionary type that claims the description today. I see the so called modern liberal as being more closed minded, insular and controlling and not open to new things at all.

Ravi Iyer of the University of Southern California), who note that "successfully monitoring and attending negative features of the environment, as conservatives tend to do, may be just the sort of tractable task…that is more likely to lead to a fulfilling and happy life than is a constant search for new experience after new experience."

Unfortunately, I think these scientists are taking a fairly biased view here based on popular society.

Bakshi's Ass

Robert Crumb's bid for solidarity with Charlie Hebdo shows an extremely detailed illustration of Mohammed's butt. Crumb cautions that it is not the butt of a prophet but the butt of a film maker, however.
FWIW, Robert Rodriguez has taken on the task of creating a live action movie (that will undoubtedly use massive CG) of Fire & Ice, a collaboration of Frank Frazetta & Ralph Bakshi in 1983. Sony has purchased the film, so who knows WHAT will ranspire....

The Clever GOP

Instead of leading with bold ideas embracing liberty, the Ohio GOP is, instead, being clever in imposing it's self interests onto the state.
Traffic monitoring cameras are OK if you don't use them.
Women's health clinics are OK if you can jump through enough hoops and hit constantly moving targets.
Their legislation is bloody and will result in many deaths, mutilations and ruined lives. The anti abortion efforts will result in more women dying of cancer, a spread in sexually transmitted diseases, unwanted children growing up dysfunctional and winding up in a world of insanity, vice & drugs. Their deluded efforts to thwart the use of cheap technology will squander the talents of highly trained police officers, & lead to potentially dangerous car chases. The lack of traffic enforcement will lead to more mayhem on the streets with motorists losing control of their vehicles while operating them at irrational & illegal speeds. Pedestrians, cyclists (motor & manual) and other motorists will routinely be T-boned and killed, maimed & crippled.
They can pat each other on the back and cheer their cleverness but those drinks they are toasting with might as well be blood.

Cranley caught breaking the law & endangering the general populace.Why was the mayor of Cincinnati out trying to mow down pedestrians? Arrogant? Ride? Mean? Assholism? Madman? Belligerent?

Anyhoo, it was shocking enough that the film was abandoned & banned.
The kid that was fantasizing the whole thing is definitely my kind of guy. Unfortunately, in typical cheap ass British film making tradition, it's pretty sparse on special effects. Americans & Japanese would have a lot more gore, mutilation & dismemberment. Still, it has that eerie British The Prisoner thing going on.

While I expected the big hysteria thing this Halloween would be Ebola tainted chocolate, it appears the Denver Heat is whipping people up over pot laced candy.
WKRC is only too happy to jump on the fear mongering because you know people will travel from Cincinnati to Colorado so they can buy cannabis products & zap 'em into candies so they can bring them back to Cincinnati & distribute them on Halloween, ultimately turning kids into commies and homos.
We need to set up road blocks now to search every car for loose candy & to find out if the drivers have been to Colorado recently. We should probably test their blood sugar, too.

Are Republicans Really Humans ?

This ad kinda makes you wonder if Republicans are actually being a little too defensive.
Does anybody really think Republicans are not humans?
In a study 11% of Americans weren't sure if the planet was controlled by shape shifting alien lizard men and when you break it down by political party, Republicans believe more than 2 - 1 the space aliens rule the world over Democrats. Republicans believe Bigfoot exists a little less than half the number Democrats do.
The notion that these space aliens live in caverns and manipulate us with rays, chem-trails, electronic broadcasts are nothing new, there were David Icke's Anunnaki and Ray Shaver's Deros, and John Carpenter's They Live.
Basically, the Republicans are a little more concerned with mythical beings & conspiracies than Democrats. Is this an ad meant to soften their image or just a crack into their paranoid fantastical minds?
Or are they just trying to throw us off?

How Much More Can Cranley Spend ?

Dude is nuts. He's looking at every way possible to derail the Cincinnati Streetcar that already has substantial investment but he's also wanting to spend more money to re-engineer a dangerous highway exit ramp that had been slated for removal 10 years ago.
Cranley's new ramp, conceived in a fairly Monzellian manner will only cost $35M and will not have much impact since there's another ramp about a mile down the road. The city does not have $35M but that's OK.
What's really killing the city however is the crushing cost of operating a streetcar @$3M/yr. Never mind that Cranley is the only person in the world who thinks construction of said streetcar is running behind schedule & over budget (wait - didn't he 'pause' work & squander about a million dollars??), what are the chances that this new interchange will be on time and on budget?
This is the guy the spending hawks chickens endorsed?

There's a saying that life is for living. Trite, easy to remember…

But it has a ring of truth. Every living thing spends it's life trying to survive. It's what living crap does. Take a blade of grass. What's going on in your yard is a desperate war for survival. And for what?
Human society has so much weird ass abstract bullshit going on. It's amazing anybody makes it out of their teens with all the ridiculous anxiety a kid goes through.
But as the Libertarians say, if you don't have the control of your own body, then you're just a slave. Wendy O Williams' purported suicide note expressed this perfectly.

I don't believe that people should take their own lives without deep and thoughtful reflection over a considerable period of time. I do believe strongly, however, that the right to do so is one of the most fundamental rights that anyone in a free society should have. For me, much of the world makes no sense, but my feelings about what I am doing ring loud and clear to an inner ear and a place where there is no self, only calm.

I agree 100%, but go back to the blade of grass. Not wanting to survive, wanting to put an end to your life isn't normal. It's not part of our basic DNA. It's dumbass society fucking with you.
If you want to kill yourself, TELL somebody, talk to somebody, anybody because you're not thinking right. You're a mammal. That's not what mammals do.
