I Thought We Needed to Buy a Bridge
When your household is planning on a major purchase, it's always a good idea to look at the total budget & trim the fat / cut the unnecessary & frivolous spending. You certainly don't cut your income, heck, you probably go for all the overtime possible.
So, Ohio needs wants a new bridge expected to run $3 BILLION dollars but with cost over runs will probably come in around $6 BILLION dollars, why would the Ohio legislature bump up the speed limit 5 miles per hour? On top of that, they propose cutting revenue collected from scofflaws & deadbeats.

Our shadow government, The Insurance Industry doesn't like the higher speed limit and will most definitely tax each and every Ohio driver for the speed limit change. But beyond that we will be spending all sorts of money replacing signs, manuals, pamphlets, etc. for a tiny incremental speed limit change will save no money at all.
Indeed, this is like a head of a household, wanting to buy a new car, cutting his work hours, upping his cable service and shouting, "FASTER!" at his bus driver.
